Charity Golf Day
Red Shield Series
Meadow Springs

Meadow Springs hosted the second round of The Red Shield Series on a glorious Friday afternoon well suited to good scoring.
The driving range saw Skipper Mitsubishi display two of Hyundai's new Getz cars and from comments made on the day it looks to be a little car with great potential.
Many thanks go to the Salvos Emergency truck who put up a great sausage sizzle prior the tee off. Many players had never sent the truck which is normally found at the site of those most in need and supporting the great work of those helping fight fires, floods or other disasters.

The Dolphin Design team were winners on the day with an outstanding round of team golf boasting 9 birdies, carrying away the Hyatt's overnight package prizes. Somic Resources squad of members from The Vines filled second spot on a count-back from the Hyatt team lead on the day by Dr Tammy Tai, with prizes donated by Sorrento Beach Resort and The Sanctuary Resort in Bunbury. Contec Communications brought up the rear of the field with a score usually reserved for a winners slot but were gracious tail end supporters of the Red Shields cause. Harry Tan of Tang Computers teamed up with Arthur Jackson of the Salvos's PR area and scored the Most Putts prize of the day with plenty of lip outs spoken about along with the On Site Stress Management team working overtime keeping competitors relaxed.

A previous winner of the first round, Greg Cox a 2 handicapper from Lakelands Golf Club, took aim on the 11th Par 3 Shoot-Out raising funds for the Salvo's as the teams came through.

Arthur Jackson received a cheque for the funds raised from the first round of the Series on the night on behalf of the WA Salvation Army. He explained to the days players how the Red Shield Appeal is the major funding source for the Salvation Army and where the funds are put to work for the community.

The Golf Series arranged by Golf Guru is an important means for the Salvation Army to be able to meet business people in WA in a relaxed networking atmosphere with the idea of being able to develop new working partnerships with industry and commerce.

The next round of the Series heads to The Sanctuary Resort in Bunbury on the 29th of November. A great days golf and evenings entertainment will be had by all who make the trip.
